Tottenham Hotspur v Fulham.
Venue: Wembley, OK 3pm.
Tomorrow we face Fulham in our first game at our temporary home this season. And we will be without one of our influential players Son Heung-min (Nice one Son!). He is off representing his country. Apart from Lamela, Son is the only significant absentee.
Fulham will be coming to Wembley for the second time this season, the first was in the play-offs against Aston Villa, which they won. So they will be hoping to reenact their performance, even though they had a player sent off in that match, and finally get their campaign off the ground.
We, on the other hand, must continue our winning spree, even though that winning spree amounts to one away win out of only one played match. And that was against Newcastle last Saturday lunchtime. Then Spurs looked jagged, but kept composed and saw off the fighting Geordies.
Last season we lost our opening home game against Chelsea, in a match that we should have won. But that has been our problem, last season there were a lot of matches we should have won, but didn’t. Those who finished higher up the league are there because they took their chances. Spurs have a good 11 players, right subbing will make all the difference to any game.
Fulham, on the other hand, lost their opening game in a surprise defeat by Crystal Palace. They want revenge to show their travelling supporters that they intend to stay in the Premiership and in a good position in the league.
Fulham are a friendly club, and most Tottenham Hotspur supporters would like to see them stay up, but not at the expense of us losing to them. They have other battles to make their mark.
All it leaves me to say, Come On You Spurs! And let us go out there and show the cynics what we are made of and whether at Wembley, away or at our new home there is only one way to go, and that is up.
