Odds and sods and all that (including World Cup news)
England game against Belgium will be played at Kaliningrad Stadium, Kaliningrad.
It is a two-tier stadium, armed with ultramodern security systems and CCTV. It is a 25,000 seater stadium, and part of the roof will be retracted.
Kaliningrad; former German name: Königsberg. It is the administrative centre of Kaliningrad Oblast, a Russian exclave between Poland and Lithuania on the Baltic Sea.
Kaliningrad is at the mouth of the navigable Pregolya River, which empties into the Vistula Lagoon, an inlet of the Baltic Sea. Sea vessels can access Gdańsk Bay/Bay of Danzig and the Baltic Sea by way of the Vistula Lagoon and the Strait of Baltiysk.
I must say the Russian people have been very accommodating and friendly and have welcomed all nations. I just hope the moron element doesn’t spoil it for everybody else. And of course, if you do get hooligans going on the rampage, the Russian police won’t hesitate to go in full throttle (that isn’t a problem, in itself, other than innocent bystanders could get hurt. And we don’t want that. Morons yes).
With all the speculation about Harry Kane and what he is worth it was a touch of brilliance on the part of Levy to tie down Kane to an extended contract. Now we just need to build a stronger squad than last season. More so if Kane does even better than he is currently doing in the world cup and goes even further with the England squad.
Still nothing on the transfer front, just paper speculations.
As I said before, the new giant Tottenham Hotspur superstore should be ready or opened in July (this will coincide with the new shirt designs being sold).
There isn’t really that much to report, other than paper speculation and that is only for selling papers for hungry fans who would preferably have rubbish than nothing. And of course, rubbish speculation only fuels debate in the tea rooms up and down the country.
Don Scully, until next time. khorosheye zdorov'ye (good health)
