Looking at our defeat against WBA and our up and coming match against Newcastle United tomorrow night.

Tomorrow night we face Newcastle, but before we get to that match, we had expected to be in a healthy position with a win under our belts and points in the bag against the Albion (that is the WBA at the foot of the table). What happened was an abysmal disaster. We certainly didn’t show that we were worthy. If it weren’t for our game in hand then we would have had more eggs on our collective faces. To WBA’s credit, top marks to them for their come out fighting style and going for it (a pity we didn’t have the same mentality as well). They've now beaten United and us and drew against Liverpool, but that is no excused on our part. We should have won against a team that is struggling.

Flashbacks to the time Newcastle United went down a few season’s ago, but still managed to knock the shit out of us by 5 goals to 1. We badly need to win tomorrow’s game otherwise it is going to make it very difficult for ourselves to keep a grip on the fourth spot. More so with Chelsea breathing down our necks (and could overtake), and if that happens Europa football here we come, a lovely baptism for the new stadium; a shit competition to go with a brand new arena. It can’t get any worse for a team who has high hopes.

I know we had doubts at the beginning of the season; moving to a new temporary home, the so-called Wembley-Jinx, and then all those competitions thrown-in. But if we are worthy of challenging for top honours, then we are in the same league as the United’s, Arsenal’s, Chelsea’s, City’s and Liverpool’s of this world, which means the same pressures as they have. There can be no excuses.

Over the last couple of weeks we’ve watched United and Liverpool collapse, City are the only team on form and that is why they won the title convincingly. God help us if those teams, including Arsenal and Chelsea, were in top form as well, we would have been nowhere in sight. We would be hobnobbing with the likes of Everton, West Ham, Newcastle and such. In other words, we would be swimming with the minnows’.
We were, and hopefully still will be seeing a new dawn approaching us and the new stadium was going to be that starting block.

At this position in time, all I can say is that it isn’t over yet… so a strong showing, a good mentality and a fighting spirit will hopefully give us what we want. They say we’ve got young talent, well, let us show the world how talented our squad of players are by fucking winning tomorrow.
