Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur FA Cup Semi-Final 21st April 2018

Tomorrow night two big guns are out and facing each other in the Semi-Final of the world’s great football competition.  Tomorrow night we hope to be in that final, as do United. To be honest, I think it is too close to be called. The Spurs advantage is bollocks as both teams have plenty of guns to even things out. Personally, I think it will be so evenly matched that it will go down to mistakes (probably goalkeeper errors).

WBA, relegated threatened team, surprised everybody and beat United 1-0 (at Old Trafford), even though before they put a dent in City’s hopes of winning the League Trophy on United’s ground. We, on the other hand, showed our challenging weakness by being outplayed and well and truly beaten by a well worthy League trophy winners. Then we faced Brighton, fellow strugglers (that is fellow strugglers to WBA) and were held to a draw.

So; that sums up both teams. Nevertheless, it is the only chance both teams have of winning silverware this season.

As for Chelsea v Southampton the following day, I, and probably the rest of the world, expect Chelsea to beat Southampton. But then again the footballing world expected that a home advantage would see United beat bottom of the table WBA. And don't forget that Wigan – who are not even in the Premier league – knocked out Manchester City, and Forest knocked out Arsenal. In other words, for such a competition favourites go out of the widow and the toss of the coin comes in.

So; there you have it. Short and sweet and all eyes will be on tomorrow/ weekend's Semi-Final. Just hope the weather is as good as it is today and there are plenty of icecreams and cool drinks to keep us refreshed and in a vocal chorus.
