Tottenham Hotspur v Juventus tomorrow at 7.45 pm.
Way back in September, when we faced Dortmund, the critics laughed and said we were in a league of death… or fire, or whatever word they used. But we continued winning and beating all the group opponents, apart from when we drew against Real Madrid away. In fact, we finished at the top of that league table.
Then we had to wait until this year (February, in fact) to face Juventus on their ground (first leg). After a 10 minutes shaky start and being 2-0 down we spent the rest of the 80 minutes on top and equalising. We showed our superiority.
We now go into Wednesday game with two away goals. That means a 0-0 or 1-1 draw will take us through to the next round.
Personally, I think we will go through by winning the match. After our game against Huddersfield Town – which we won 2-0 – and also being unbeaten this year, we go into this match in a strong position.
We have a strong squad and are ready. No doubt Juventus are also are on a good run and are prepared for this match; wanting to get revenge after they drew on their home ground.
If we should get through, and as I said, I believe we will then we could face one of the English teams that also went through. I would prefer another trip aboard, but it won't be down to me (mores the pity).
So here is to tomorrow night and hope for a good result.
Team News: We don’t have any significant injury problems other than Toby Alderweireld, who has an annoying ankle injury. Serge Aurier is suspended.
