Tottenham Hotspur 1 Juventus 2 UEFA Champions League

We are out, but shouldn’t have been put out.We were the dominant team, and apart from a few moments of a lack of concentration, we stayed the dominant team. But it is all over now with nothing to show for it.

Is it the team? Kane hasn’t been firing on all cylinders lately. Alli has been suspect for a while, and the list goes on. And what about the manager? Or is this just a young side looking to get their footing. Time will decide, but how much time? Years ago we would have waited for the players to mature, but we are living in the now. And as for the players themselves, they might start getting itchy feet.

Then there is the other problem; money. At the moment we can’t compete with the top clubs, we’ve got to pay off our debts (new stadium etc.). So Pochettino has to make do with what he has got. But will he wait?

So many questions, and as we try to answer them the season moves on, and our trophy options get smaller as we are knocked out of one competition after another.

I have not doubt that the players will stay for next season, but if we get another season without trophies, then our star players will start looking elsewhere. And will Levy look elsewhere for a new manager? He knows that without his star players and challenging for top honours; he will struggle to fill his new stadium. Success brings the crowds.

Out of the group of teams in this season’s Champions league cup we are the first British team to have left this competition through being beaten.

The other problem Spurs could find, if they can only manage 4th place, is that if Chelsea win the Champions League and Arsenal win the Europa league then fourth place won’t be in next season’s Champions Cup. This happened once before. We can’t afford to just hope for fourth but must aim as high as possible.
So there you have it. We started the season on a high… especially in the Champions League and now we are out of it. We didn’t start off so well in the Premier League, and City has become the kingpins and will win the league. We are still in the chase for a top 4 spot. We are out of the League Cup because we never took it seriously. We now have the FA Cup left. We face Swansea in the next round, and if we don’t take that seriously, we will be out of that as well. Then what? What will we bring to our new stadium?

So many questions but not enough answers or spaces left. Pochettino and Levy could be facing catastrophe if they are not careful. Then there are the fans. Will they start to stand up and be counted? Or will be they be passive bystanders? I think not. They will protest if things start going downwards and players want to leave.

So many Headaches all around.
