Spurs 3 Wimbledon 0 in the third round of the FA Cup.

Tonight is the night of the draw for the 4th round of the FA Cup. We are in it because we beat AFC Wimbledon, also in it is Nottingham Forest because they beat Arsenal. So, all-round yesterday was a good day for Spurs supporters.

I must say, the first half of our game against AFC Wimbledon was so frustrating that I could see them (them being AFC) getting a goal. Luckily for us, we managed to survive the first half; or should that be, they were lucky to survive the first half as at one point we had 95% of the possession, but bugger all to show for it.

I don’t know what Pochettino did in the first half – maybe squeezed a few testicles or something – as they came out with a bit more zest. Llorente and Sissoko were replaced with Alli and Son and the goals came. First Harry got two, then Vertonghen got the third, which was a blaster. Full credit to AFC Wimbledon for putting up a good fight.

I think the surprise of the day was putting Kane on with Llorente. Nkoudouat eventually replaced Kane. As he walked off he received a fantastic cheer and standing ovation.

So, job done and now we wait for the draw. Who do we want? I am not really bothered, so long as it is a home tie.

Some news on the transfer front: With Coutinho arriving from Liverpool (to Barcelona) there might be a chance that we might get Andre Gomes as his chances of first-team outings could be very much limited. But to be honest a load of names are thrown into the ring when transfer windows are open.

It has been reported that Harry will stay at Spurs if he can see trophies being won, which to be is the bleeding bloody obvious. I did report earlier that he or any player won’t stay if they feel they won’t win anything with Spurs. There are a lot of clubs that can offer trophies if Spurs can’t. Let us hope this season will give us some silverware. On the Kane subject, he is one of three players that are regarded as very valuable in the world. Neymar and Messi being the other two.

So, take it easy, enjoy the draw tonight and then we all meet up this Saturday for another league outing, this time against Everton at Wembley.

Yours truly, Don Scully
