B Dortmund 1 Spurs 2

What an exciting couple of days they have been. I went out early so I could be with the team and they showed in training that they were determined and excited at the prospect of doing the fans proud. More so after the Arsenal game, which was just a blip, and they wanted to show that. Maurice tried out every possibility to counter whatever Dortmund might throw at us. And they did.

The atmosphere in the stadium was quite electrifying. I spoke to a few fans and journalists and many thought that because we were already through that we might just go in half-heartedly.

The Dortmund stadium is always impressive and gives off a great feeling of warmth.

When both sets of players came out the fans showed warmth to both teams and were delighted to actually have reached this point. Of course Dortmund had more to gain from a victory and of course, they were on home territory. Spurs were considered just interlopers to this competition and weren't  expected to be sent home with a flea in their ear. Of course, the best plans don't always work that way.

Right from the getgo, you could see we meant business. We had most of the possession in the first half, but that didn't stop them scoring with a goal in the 31st minutes, scorer Aubameyang. They celebrated as if they had already won it and a sort of relief. The Dortmund fans jumped up, while the Spurs crowd just sat there and looked on glumly. But Spurs continued looking for a goal and on many occasions should have scored with good efforts from various players. Of course, there were a few chances for the home team, but we had to settle with them being one up at halftime.

In the interval, the fans chatted about possible outcomes and sat down with trepidation to wait for the whistle for the second half. Alli seemed to come alive and set up some good passes to Kane, and their efforts finally paid off with a goal from Kane.

Dortmund looked tired and Alli did his part again and helped Son score our second goal and take us ahead. We contained them and fans and players alike couldn't wait until the final whistle came. And came it did with a big cheer from the Spurs travelling supporters, while the Dortmund fans went home dejected. Spurs showed their metal and were ready to take on anything that was thrown at them. Our defeat at the hands of the Arsebenders was just a distant memory and it showed that that match was just a blip and that strong determined players wanted to show you (us) that we haven't seen anything yet.

Of course, that competition still has one more match to go, but in the meantime, we can now plot our path to challenging for things in the league. Our next match - and at Wembley - will be against managerless WBA. We need this victory more than ever so that we can show that we can bounce back from our last two league defeats: United and the Arsewipes.

Enjoy the moment: COYS!

Yours truly, Don Scully
