Who or what are Apoel?
First of all, let me tell you about an injury update. Erikson is out injured. He is poorly and was left behind. So let us hope him well and is ready for Saturday's game.
APOEL FC Athletic Football Club of Greeks of Nicosia is a professional football club. They are the most successful club of Cyprus, with 26 Championships, 21 cups and 13 super cups. Their greatest moment in a European Competitions was in season 2011-12 when they qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition by topping the group and eliminating Olympique Lyonnais in the last 16. They are the only Cypriot club to reach the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
They were founded in 1926.
Apoel has been in their home ground since 23 October 1999. It holds 22,859 seats. It is the largest stadium in Cyprus and they share it with local rivals Omonia and Olympiakos Nicosia. Before they moved into their GSP Stadium their home ground was the Makario Stadium (from 1978, until they moved).
The temperature this time of year is very hot. So there you are.
For those fans out there they will find a lot to take in and will enjoy their stay and hospitality. Apoel will have an enthusiastic support behind them. Spurs fans will have to be on tiptop form to be heard over the vocal support of Apoel fans.
