PREVIEW: SPURS 1 BARNSLEY 0 LEAGUE CUP 19 September 17.

In my previous review of the Swansea game, I said that Spurs threw everything at them. We did the same in this match, but this time we finally got our goal. The youngsters/ squad members that came in replacement of the regular team excelled themselves. This might not have been an important competition, as far as the fans and manager were concerned, nevertheless, we achieved what we set out to achieve; a win. It was a victory in front of a sparse and largely apathetic crowd. Barnsley deserved all the credit for going more than an hour against a strong Spurs side before finally conceding a goal. Barnsley put everybody behind the ball when they did manage to get it and battled well, but like us, couldn't get through. That is until Alli scored the winner.

I am sure Pochettino will have learnt lessons from this match. I am sure we can only get stronger and as the season weaves its way through the months we will become stronger. It is all about the end result; trophies won or not, and where are we in the league. When we go back to the new stadium we will want to be in a strong position. No less than a top-four finish.
