What is happening at Spurs? It has all become a bit of a joke!

Lamela: there is some dispute that Erik Lamela might never be ready for a return to football. It was claimed that Spurs legend Ricky Villa had said that Lamela might never play again. This has now been refuted. He was supposed to have made this claim in an interview with an Argentine radio station. Lamela has been sidelined now for 11 months. Even though he is still young, the longer he is off the harder it will be for him to get back into the proper flow of things.

Tottenham has questioned Villa's version of things.

By omitting him from the Champions league is a clear indication that he has a long way to go before being ready, if ready. I also hear reports that certain sources are concerned about his health (more than what has been announced). Lamela has made 121 appearances for us, scoring 19 goals and supplying 31 assists; in all competitions.

My personal view is that if he doesn't make a full recovery before we go to our new stadium then things could look very doubtful. Let us hope I am wrong.
