Well, what a hard bloody draw. Two great teams in Real Madrid and Dortmund, plus Apoel. Spurs are going to need their wits if they are going to get anything out of these games.

Let us start with Real Madrid, they were formed in 1902 and became one of the most successful European teams. They won the European Champions club 5 years in a row. The first was 1955-56. In total they've won it 12 times. The last time they won it was this year (2016-17). So we are facing the current European Champions. They've won their league 33 times. Also; two FIFA World Club trophies (plus a host of other cup and European trophies to their name). They've also got two former Spurs players in their current side (Bale being one of them). So we've got our work cut out for us. The players we've got and the players we are getting won't be any pushover. One down side is that Alli is suspended for the first 3 matches of the competition.

Borussia Dortmund comes from Germany and has won 8 domestic titles, the last being in the 2015-16 season. They've only won the European Champions crown once, and that was in 1996/7. They will be another formidable team to beat.

Apoel FC is from Cyprus. They have won their league 26 times, the last being the season just gone. They have never won a European trophy. But that doesn't mean they will be a pushover. Nevertheless, Spurs are expected to beat them, along with the other two teams.

So there you have it, a daunting task.
