Transfer policy of Mr Levy
Reading many Spurs supporters Facebook pages I've noticed that there has been criticism of Daniel Levy over transfers, or put it more precisely, the lack of them. Even TV pundits are getting into the act. If anybody knows anything about Mr Levy is his hard business man approach to transfers (buying players). He usually waits to the near close-by-date (of the transfer window) before making an approach. But the process starts months before. First, with his manager and team, he/ they draw up a list of players they need and probes the transfer market - making inquiries - discussing and then making a bid. Now; usually they have a number of players they want, but the list has more names on it than what they actually want. This is because if they get any rejections they have other avenues to look into. Nothing unusual here, at least for Spurs.
The other problem they will have is that if they buy a big named player - spending a lot of money - then who do they drop? Spurs have a brilliant starting 11, so no big name will want to be there just for the cover. Anybody that comes in will have to challenge for a place. Striker position will be difficult as they have a striker who has parked his bus and doesn't look like giving up so easily unless an injury forces him to do so. A good team give one many headaches. But I have no doubt that we will be buying before the deadline. We (as in the team) are building something special; challenging on many fronts.
