Let's talk about Danny Rose
Danny Rose thinks he should get a pay rise and more players to come in at Spurs.
I don't know if you saw the debate on MOTD between pundits Alan Shearer and fellow pundit Jermaine Jenas. Jenas thought that Spurs should give in to Rose's demands, while Shearer took a more pragmatic viewpoint. Shearer was right; Rose hasn't played for the last 7 months (through injury) and of course, hasn't won a trophy. If he wants to be regarded as one of the elites then he must start winning trophies and finish in the number one spot. At least the other teams have won trophies/ league titles (that pay more). In fact, we had the chance but blew it at the last leg. Rewards go to winners, not runners up or losers. Of course, we all want to see Spurs win trophies, and when that comes around then rewards to the players will be forthcoming. But he was out of order and arrogance shone through his comments. Eventually, he backed down and apologised to his team mates and the club.
Just some information for you: There are 11 clubs in the world that have greater revenue that Spurs and who pay more in wages. Five of those clubs are from the Premier League; Chelsea, City, United, Liverpool and Arsenal. Of course, that will change once we've built our new stadium and the surrounding area has been built up so that rents can be claimed. So our wage structure is very good and about right.
As for more players coming into Spurs, that will happen, and the transfer window hasn't closed yet. Daniel Levy is notorious for waiting for the last moment before purchasing.
